Douglas Bechler

Senior Consultant
Doug Bechler is an accomplished practitioner in the NGO community having spent a decade as a senior level executive with World Vision, one of the world’s largest privately funded international and relief development organizations. WV operates in 83 countries with more than 5000 projects with annual income of over $2 billion and 15,000 employees worldwide. Doug served under former World Vision President and United States Ambassador Robert A. Seiple.
Doug is a dynamic, results-oriented manager/director with proven success as an accomplished fundraiser having secured millions of dollars from public and private sources for many international projects, including long-term emphasis on water projects in Africa. Doug has a proven track record of success in establishing and negotiating strategic corporate philanthropic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, major domestic corporations, high net worth individuals and other key influencers. He is an experienced professional capable of navigating diverse and challenging environments-corporate board rooms, UN meetings, ministerial meetings and international venues. He has a track record of meeting ambitious goals, building long-term intrinsic value and hitting short and long term targets, while managing personnel and guiding operations.
Mr. Bechler has long-standing relationships in Washington, D.C. and New York in both the public and private sectors, having spent ten years working in the political arena prior to joining World Vision, including working for former United States Senate Majority Leader Robert Dole. He has traveled to more than 25 countries hosting corporate, foundation and high-net worth representatives and arranged for high level ministerial meetings in countries including Latin America, Asia, and Africa. He is a successful proposal writer and presenter. He is extremely creative, resourceful, determined and a highly skilled strategic planner, promoter, marketer and manager. He has strong interpersonal and communications skills to motivate, network and negotiate effectively.
