Gail L. Freeman
Gail L. Freeman is Founder and President of Freeman Philanthropic Services, L.L.C., a full-service firm offering a broad range of services including fund-raising consulting, training, and executive search for leading not-for-profit organizations nationwide. As a recognized leader in the not-for-profit field, Ms. Freeman brings more than twenty-five years of experience in executive recruitment. Her broad experience and multi-faceted knowledge base bring a complete perspective to the Firm's numerous clients. Throughout her career, Ms. Freeman has worked in a variety of capacities in the not-for-profit field. Prior to the establishment of her namesake firm, Ms. Freeman served as Vice President and Director for a national retained executive search firm, where she led the Development & Institutional Advancement practice. In this capacity, she managed all aspects of the search process, including client relationships, research, networking, qualification, and final selection of candidates.

Ryan T. Davenport, Director of Operations
Ryan T. Davenport is the Director of Operations for Freeman Philanthropic Services, L.L.C. Mr. Davenport, former FPS Office Manager, was thrilled to return to FPS as Director of Operations in 2011. With a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Missouri State University, Mr. Davenport danced professionally for over 15 years and produced a Las Vegas magic show for over eight years before transitioning to Corporate America in NYC and ultimately FPS. A proud member of the Lesbian and Gay Big Apple Corps Marching Band, he also enjoys travel and photography.

Djuana Beranger, Executive Recruiter
Djuana Beranger is an Executive Recruiter for Freeman Philanthropic Services, L.L.C. Ms. Beranger possesses a demonstrated ability to successfully partner opportunity with talent. A former recruiter in the corporate sector, she has recruited 100+ employees into various roles. She holds a B.A. in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Some of her responsibilities include: network, source, screen, evaluate and select candidates through a structured recruitment process designed to obtain the most qualified candidates.

Flavio Dos Santos Furtado, Senior Consultant
Flavio Dos Santos Furtado was born in Belo Horizonte, the capital and largest city of the state of Minas Gerais, located in the southeastern region of Brasil. Mr. Furtado is a resident of New York City and specializes in Executive Recruitment for the not-for-profit community in Brasil. Currently, Mr. Furtado is working on recruitments in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Furtado has had extensive experience working for corporations throughout Brasil. For a duration of twenty years, he worked for Avaliadora Geral de Bens (AGB), a general property evaluations company. Mr. Furtado has also worked as a volunteer for Centro Latino in a variety of capacities. He attended Pitagoras and the University of Fumec where he studied Civil Engineering. Mr. Furtado also recently completed the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) First Course in Fundraising.

Derek C. Bellin, Senior Project Manager & Consultant
Derek C. Bellin has recruited over 225 advancement, finance, marketing and communications professionals across the higher education, research, healthcare, advocacy and community development sectors. With FPS since 2005, he has facilitated recruitment of executive leadership for Brandeis University, Brown University, Columbia University, Harvard School of Public Health, Sarah Lawrence College, Stevens Institute of Technology and Tufts University. The Broad Institute of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital and the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at MIT are among the research-intensive enterprises he has assisted while he has also served Catholic Charities, Harlem Children's Zone and others in the advocacy arena.

Kevin Clark, Senior Project Manager & Consultant
Kevin Clark specializes in executive recruitment for the not-for-profit sector, successfully recruiting top leadership for national and international institutions of higher education, cultural organizations, hospitals, social service and advocacy groups. Mr. Clark works on all aspects of the search with a strong concentration on position profile development, candidate references, and interviewing. Previously, Mr. Clark worked in the not-for-profit sector for a biomedical research institution. He has also served on the junior committee of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution and is an interior designer. His broad knowledge and service within the sector brings a vast network of resources to his clients: The New School, Harlem Childrens Zone, Marymount Manhattan College, FIT, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Baby Buggy (founder, Jessica Seinfeld), Connecticut College and The New School Parsons Paris. Mr. Clark has also written and edited a number of coffee table books on all areas of design.

Iva Popovicova Colter, Ph.D., Consultant
Iva Popovicova-Colter has worked for a number of executive search firms specializing in the not-for-profit sector in the New York City area. She has experience in identifying, sourcing, developing, and interviewing candidates for senior executive positions in the sector, with particular expertise in higher education.
Dr. Colter received her doctorate in Comparative literature from Rutgers University and completed her MA in Gender and Culture from Central European University in Budapest. She has also worked as a researcher for Jami Bernard, movie critic from the Daily News, and is a member of the Executive Search Roundtable. |

Kathy DeCoursey has been conducting reference checks for Freeman Philanthropic Services since 2007. Her prior experience includes twenty-five years with an executive search firm involved in conducting searches at high levels in all industries. She also served for three and a half years as Office Manager for a private equity investment firm with over $1 billion of capital under management. Her volunteer work includes serving as a kitchen worker for God's Love We Deliver.

Current searches include Associate Dean for Resource Development for Harvard School of Public Health, Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Pratt Institute, Vice President of Philanthropy for World Learning, and Vice President Strategic Marketing and Development for John Jay College, among others. Ann has more than 25 years of experience as an executive recruiter and holds an MSW from Washington University in St. Louis. She received the 2005 Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC) Award for Excellence and Professionalism in Research.
